CLIENT ASK: Give the city something exclusive

Receiving this brief from the Nike Football client allowed me to really get in my bag when it came to creativity and project management. By the time this project came around Dallas had become my fourth home.  After spending my entire summer in Dallas working on the Dallas Football Warehouse, I was now very familiar with the city and the culture. Relationships with local artists, designers and influencers were developed. Finding venues was just a phone call away.

The client wanted to have a gallery to showcase art inspired by the new Showout Sideline SS Hoodie that would debut during the Cowboys Thanksgiving Day game the following week. What we landed on was a gallery in the heart of the Bishop Arts District. A blank canvas to do whatever we wanted. I was inspired by the Dallas skyline, so neon was a must. Nike commissioned three local artists  (@Jussbeenrobbed, @Sourgrapescrew, and @Stemandthorn) to create unique pieces that highlighted the hoodie but also highlighted the city.

On-site customization with graphics by the good folks at By Way of Dallas, open bar, and passed hors d’oeuvres -word spread quickly. Everyone in Dallas Showed Up and Showed Out.

NIKE DALLAS

Triple D and The Swoosh go hand in hand. What eventually served as a photo backdrop for the night was merely a fun neon that I wanted in the space to showcase the skyline and how Nike will forever shine bright.

GO BIG OR GET OUT OF TEXAS

Everything is bigger in Texas was the theme for this piece. The original gallery was of art of all mediums. The idea here was for it to be a one-of-one item in a display case. I pitched the idea of having a larger-than-life model of the hoodie that could serve as a photo moment for event attendees. Budget restrictions put this one on ice.
